In addition to the talent that you have as a young player – and that can be further developed – it is important to work with your trainers every day on all the skills you need to perform at top level. But do you know what is really crucial? Your posture!
To make your dream come true and become a professional footballer, you must have a positive attitude and be truly motivated to succeed. Getting and keeping a contract with a professional club requires dedication, perseverance, listening and learning. It is also important to be open to feedback, work hard and adjust your mindset.
Everyone – trainers, scouts, teammates, agents, sponsors, fans, parents, friends and especially yourself – must apply this. Some talented young players never made it through because they had a bad attitude, didn’t behave and didn’t want to change. On the other hand, there are players who may be less talented, but have a great attitude, are positive and are willing to work hard and learn. These are the players that coaches like to work with. Both the player and the trainer appreciate this the most.
Which way do you want to go?
